On May 15th, Judy Byron will be hosting the “Perfect Girls” installation opening at her home studio Artist House. In “Perfect Girls,” Byron considers the expectations of perfection for American girls today, in contrast with her personal coming of age in the 1950’s, through the combination of drawings and audio. This event will be from 2-4pm at 1910 Park Road NW, Washington, D.C. 20010. After the opening, Byron will be hosting a series of afternoon salons and further evening events that will be open to the public. More information on these events can be found here on Byron’s website.

In conjunction with “Perfect Girls,” Byron has invited women and those who identify as female to submit a personal photo, with a caption that completes the phrase “When I was perfect…” in ten words or less. These photos can be emailed to girlsrperfect@gmail.com. For more information on this project, the installation, or on the artist herself, please visit Ms. Byron’s website here.
